  • Are your bags EN 13432 & AS 4736 certified?

    We use EN 13432 & AS 4736 material to manufacture our compostable bags. We are currently in the processes certification for our end products.

  • Are compostable bags food safe?

    Yes, we use food-grade compostable materials for our bags. All packaging meant for food is prepared in our clean room.

  • Are compostable bags good for the environment?

    Definitely! Compostable packaging is meant to reduce single-use packaging in landfills. They also compost into plant food at the end of their life.

  • Can I put compostable bags in green bin?

    Unfortunately not every local council accepts compostable bags in the organics bag. We suggest checking with your local council before disposing them in the green bin.

  • Can I customise the bags?

    Yes! In fact, all our bags are made to order.
    Minimum order quantities will apply depending on the specifications.

  • How do compostable bags work?

    Compostable bags are made from organic materials e.g. corn starch. These bags can be composted into non-toxic organic material that is nutrient rich for plants.

  • How long do compostable bags last?

    Compostable bags have a shelf life of 10 months from when it is manufactured. After this, the strength and performance of the bag can deteriorate.

  • How long do compostable bags take to break down?

    In a home compost sytem, this can vary greatly however they should significantly biodegrade within 3-6 months.

  • How to compost compostable bags?

    You can compost the bags in a compost pile or tumbler at home. You can also use a bokashi system or worm farm however, your results may vary.

  • What are compostable bags made out of?

    Compostable bags are made from plant-based materials such as corn or sugar cane starch.

  • What happens to compostable bags in landfill?

    We do not know how long it will take for compostable bags to biodegrade in landfill however, we suspect it can take significantly longer than if it were composted.

  • Biodegradable vs compostable?

    ‘Biodegradable’ bags are not safe for the enviornment as they are petroleum-based, take a long time to break down and release microplastics. Compostable bags however, are plant-based and degrade significantly quicker.
